About KSCM (Korean Society for Computational Mechanics)
The Korean Society for Computational Mechanics (KSCM) was founded in 2011 to stimulate, foster, and promote various activities such as education and research and practice in computational mechanics and organize conferences in Korea for the dissemination of knowledge concerning computational mechanics as an affiliate of the International Association for Computational Mechanics (IACM).

KSCM consists of specialists from academia, research institutes, and related industries and thus has contributed to the growth and advancement of computational mechanics not only in Korea but also in the Asia-Pacific region.

The members of KSCM have also contributed to IACM by participating in various activities of IACM and brought the attention of the Korean government, private and expert groups to the role of IACM.

The general objective of KSCM is to enhance the performance of computational mechanics in Korea. The functions of KSCM are to:

  • Facilitate exchange of knowledge in computational mechanics among researchers in Korea
  • Promote academic activities among KSCM members
  • Cooperate with other national or regional affiliations in computational mechanics field
  • Organize academic events such as forums and conferences in areas related to computational mechanics
  • Collaborate with scientific, educational and professional organizations in Korea to integrate current information on computational mechanics
